His topic for the session will be: Sino-Canadian Tri-Level Affiliated Universities, Colleges & Secondary Schools Transfer Credit Pilot Project in Ontario & Fujian Province, China.
Mr. Jiuyuan Zhang, Secretary-General, Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange/Fujian Provincial Department of Education with whom INFOworks has partnered in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, has agreed to participate in the session as a co-presenter.
Pilot Project Background & Rationale
The Sino-Canadian Tri-Level Affiliated Universities, Colleges & Secondary Schools Transfer Credit Pilot Project in Ontario & Fujian Province, China is designed to assist universities, colleges and district school boards, identified by INFOworks Educational Services - to become a part of a key initiative to create brand recognition (Canadian) in Fujian Province. Efforts will be made in cooperation with the Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange/Fujian Provincial Department of Education to present to students and their families, options to pursue secondary and post-secondary studies abroad in Canada, utilizing such strategies as governmental and internal means and resources available to the Fujian Provincial Education Association to promote, market and advertise in the province's newspapers, magazines, radios, etc.;.
The strategy begins and consists primarily the "twinning" of schools in Fujian Province, with their counterparts in Ontario, through the efforts of the Fujian International Exchange Association who have agreed to identify key schools in their province who are prepared and open to such "sister school" arrangements, upon which to build a strong foundation and opportunities for long-term cooperation. Their support is key to the success of this project.
Fujian Province has a population larger than the size of Canada. INFOworks has strategically positioned itself in Fujian, by forming a strategic partnership with the Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange, a highly credible organization, that reports directly to the Fujian Provincial Ministry of Education. INFOworks has been authorized by the Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange to seek out high quality universities, colleges and high schools in Ontario interested in establishing international educational partnerships and strategic alliances with a designated number of universities, colleges and middle schools (high schools) under their provincial jurisdiction.
INFOworks first travelled to Fujian Province in November 2005, prior to its participation in the Ontario Trade & Investment Mission To China held in Beijing and extended its outreach into Fujian Province when it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange/Fujian Provincial Department of Education on September 8, 2008 in which both parties agreed to work together to foster educational opportunities both abroad in Canada and in China.
At the invitation of the Fujian Provincial Education Association for International Exchange/Fujian Provincial Department of Education INFOworks plans to open an office in Fuzhou, Fujian Province September 2009, an offer that includes shared office space and resources for INFOworks - to help with the marketing and promotion of Canadian education in Fujian Province.
