Anticipated Openings For 2009-2010 School Year - Malaysia
 

Secondary specialists are required to teach from Grade 10 to Grade 12 inclusive:

  • Accounting and other Business Studies

  • Computer Studies

  • Economics

  • English-as-a-second-language

  • English

  • Families in Society

  • Geography (World Issues)

  • Mathematics

  • Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

Requirements

A four-year degree and a valid teaching certificate are required. Teachers must have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience and be less than 63 years old at the start of the contract – Malaysian Government Regulation.

Sunway International School – Grade (s) 10 - 11

Sunway International School is a state-of-the art facility staffed by a group of dedicated, Canadian-trained teachers. All students will be working in a wireless laptop environment, and Sunway’s programme has been designed to incorporate the latest in education technology.

Classes will be small, and the focus will be on meeting the needs of individual students. SIS will provide students with a strong foundation as they prepare for their choice of pre-university programmes.

Students who complete their studies are eligible for an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. The Ontario Ministry of Education inspects the school as per terms and conditions specified in their agreement with the school.

Sunway University College – Canadian International Matriculation Program

Since the early years of Sunway University College, one of the more popular preuniversity courses has been the Canadian International Matriculation Program (CIMP). Based on the curriculum of the province of Ontario Canada and recognized by universities worldwide, CIMP has had over 4,000 graduates. CIMP offers a broad range of Ontario Grade 12 subjects. It is located on the grounds of Sunway University College – a large, modern and dynamic institution.

Cost of living in Malaysia is considered low by Canadian standards. No PST or GST! An incentive bonus will be paid to teachers who renew their contracts for an additional year.

One economy class airfare to Kuala Lumpur from the place of residence and a similar homeward passage will be paid. One annual return economy class airfare from Kuala Lumpur to place of residence for staff members who elect to renew their contract for a second, third, etc. will be paid.

Medical Benefits

All staff members upon signing their contract are eligible for a medical and hospitalization insurance scheme. Under this plan, in accordance with Sunway’s insurance policy, teachers are protected for non pre-existing conditions.

The University College covers the cost incurred for this outpatient treatment and for prescribed drugs. Hospitalization and surgical services are also covered. (Handbook for New Teachers)
